One of the fastest rising talents in breaks and bass driven music Refracture aka Paul Dobson is renowned for powerful and energetic dancefloor material. His unique sound and energy has gotten him support from the likes of: Crystal Method, Far Too Loud, Matt Darey, Beatman & Ludmilla, Jay Cunning(kiss fm), Chad Jackson, BSD, Kyau & Albert, Ronski Speed, Anne Savage, Jon Doe and Mr No Hands(mixmag) aswell as on going support from the BBC and Ministry of Sound.

Living in the quiet village of Orford in South East England, Refracture has been creating a lot noise in the last 2 years! Working closely with Dusted Breaks Records, the 23 year old has risen quickly to impressive heights with almost every release topping the charts on beatport, playing gigs all over the world aswell as interviews with BBC Introducing and featuring on the front page of The Ministry Of Sound website.

As a solo artist Paul has relentlessly continued to push his sound and production skills to bigger and better results with every release. His intoxicating combination of powerful driving basslines and cinematic breakdowns have given him his own sound that seperates him from the rest. His charting success on various labels and releases didn’t go unnoticed and he was approached by Can You Feel It Media to release his debut album ‘Arcadia’ which stormed the charts in 2010 before being snapped up by Dusted Breaks where he has successfully released several EP’s including the recent ‘Hate on this EP’ which stayed in the top 10 for a month and spent 3 months in the Top 50 on beatport!

As a remixer Refracture has become a name that a label or artist regularly turns to for his ability to take their release to a whole new level of dancefloor power! World famous trance producers Kyau & Albert approached him to do just that for their track ‘Painkillers’. The result was a dancefloor destroying combination of uplifting trance breakdowns and powerful bass driven drops which saw Refracture’s remix being the most popular track on Euphonic records for well over a month aswell as topping the charts! Since then Paul has been asked to do remixes for labels all over the globe with the same quality, dancefloor smashing results everytime.

Refracture has also become known for his bootlegs of famous tracks. Re-inventing tracks from the likes of Radiohead, Deadmau5, Lady Gaga and The Pixies into big room killers, most of which have found themselves on the hype machines top 10 tracks!

Its not just in the production studio that Refracture has been busy though. Paul has been performing electrifying shows to capacity crowds around the world including the IBreaks Festival in Spain, The Elake Festival in Luxembourg and The Station One Festival in Belgium aswell as ‘tearing a new hole’ at the famous Breakspoll Awards in London this year.

With is a slew of new solo projects forthcoming on the likes of world dominating Ayra Records and Dusted Breaks aswell as a high demand for remixes and DJ sets throughout the scene the future looks very bright for this rapidly rising star!
