Content Portal Updated!

Some new enhancements have gone live to the Content Portal recently! Below is a quick overview of each and every addition we have added and there are tons more ideas going to be integrated as we keep on rolling into 2012! We are very happy to see these ideas coming to fruition at the quick pace that they have been coming in. We hope all labels (new and established) enjoy these enhancements!

New Web Based Uploader
Our previous web uploader had a lot of issues and we are happy to announce we have upgraded the web uploader to a more stable and consistent uploader. If you are not into using FTP, you can now upload your wav files via the content portal’s web based interface!

Updated Artist Section
As a suggestion from our label partners, we have enhanced the Artist Section to add a “Search” feature and even organize the page by alphabetical order! This feature is great for labels with various artists on compilations and we’re happy to accommodate the request of our clients!

Search Feature Added To Releases
In addition to the “Search” being added to the “Artists” section, we have also added it to the “Releases” page. As a previous enhancement, we limited the results to 15 releases per page and if you want to easily access a previous release to view the submitted release details, you can do so by searching for either the Catalog and/or Release name!

Exceptions on Cover Filenames Lifted
Previously, clients reported errors with cover art not properly uploading if there were characters such as exclamation points, parentheses, and/or apostrophes. This limitation is now gone and your cover art will properly upload and show despite what the filename says. (Note: JPGs and PNGs are still the only files that can be uploaded).

Miniatura Music Acquired!

Symphonic Distribution is proud to announce that we have acquired South American based Digital Distributor, Miniatura Music. The group consists of over 80 Electronic Dance Music labels located all around the world. “We are very excited to add the group of labels distributed by Miniatura Music to the Symphonic Distribution family.” Jorge Brea, Founder & CEO of Symphonic Distribution stated. “With our systems (Content Portal and Royalty Portal), these label brands will find the transition to be very seamless and will be able to log on to both 24/7 to manage their ongoing releases.”

Miniatura Music staff will continue to support Symphonic Distribution throughout the transition and will be on hand to ensure that all clients of Miniatura Music get what they need from Symphonic Distribution through the transition process. Labels under Miniatura Music include SP Breakz Records, Nuuktal Records, and many more labels specializing in Dance, Minimal, Tech House, and more. In addition to distribution services, all Mastering offerings provided by Miniatura Music to their clients will also be rolled into the transition. Welcome to all Miniatura Music clients!

Bloom Integrated!

Symphonic Distribution has integrated BloomFM into the Content Portal! Bloom is a music app designed to make you smile. Pick and choose from over six million songs and take them with you wherever you go! Bloom was launched by mFlow and with this new partnership, deliveries from Symphonic Distribution will now go to the new brand rather than the previous brand, mFlow! EverythingMedia Acquired!

Symphonic Distribution is proud to announce that we have acquired local Tampa, Florida based Web Development & Design company EverythingMedia. The brand has been re-launched and added to the Symphonic Distribution stable of Brands as well as add new design services and offerings for Symphonic Distribution clients and partners.

EverythingMedia has been a loyal partner and had a big hand in the development of Symphonic Distribution’s website as well as other partners’ websites. Jorge Brea, President and CEO of Symphonic Distribution states “I am thrilled to have EverythingMedia be an official brand of Symphonic Distribution. With this acquisition we can continue our goal to grow as a diverse technology services provider.” EverythingMedia will be available via it’s website www.everythingmedia.com and will post news regarding new projects as they develop.

The company previously has previously acquired Noiseporn.com in January 2010 and has since revamped the brand to feature an iPhone App, Record Label, New Design, and up to date content from the Music Industry. Plug Me In Music was also acquired through Symphonic Distribution. EverythingMedia will be ran as an independent brand for all Symphonic Distribution clients (and non-Symphonic Distribution clients) to take advantage of).

FixT Integrated!

We are proud to announce a new partnership with FixT! FiXT is an independent company with several divisions, including the FIXT Store, FIXT Remix Online Community, FIXT record label and a Film/TV/Video Game Licensing arm. FiXT is owned by Klayton of Celldweller.

The FIXT Store features over 250+ record labels serving over 2,000+ artists, 5,000+ albums and 40,000+ tracks, featuring aggressive electronic music from Industrial and IDM to Drum ‘n Bass and Breakbeat to hybrid electronic-rock as well as Rock, Metal and Orchestral genres. Plug Me In Acquired!

Plug Me In Music, a South American based Distribution group has been acquired by Symphonic Distribution. The brand distributed over 50 labels specializing in Latin and World Music. Each and every brand distributed under Plug Me In Music will now be able to take advantage of the Content Portal and Royalty Portal resources, receive distribution into iTunes, eMusic, Rhapsody, and others, as well as other Services previously unavailable to them. We are very excited to be able to diversify our catalog in a different region and representing unique music that deserves to be heard and recognized. We welcome to all of the new labels joining Symphonic Distribution!

Content Portal Updated!

We have completed some new updates this week which we believe will improve the user experience! We still have a lot of work to do and have some bugs here and there we are working on but we are moving forward with a lot of exciting updates that will help make the portal very efficient for every client! Online Featured Release Request
Every time you submit a release you now have the ability to fill out a Featured Request form. This form will be sent to every retailer we distribute to in the hopes that they will feature the material. Previously, we sent out a featured release form in a word document and retailers found this slightly time consuming. With this new method, we can send them everything in one seamless format and they will consider and request.

Additional Primary Artists
Each client now has the ability to add Primary Artists on the release level. Previously, you could only choose “Various Artists” if there was more than one artist and/or only add one artist per this section. This is now fixed enabling you to add more artists to your release level!

Ability To Re-Use ISRC Code
Previously, the system would not let clients re-use a ISRC code for a compilation or album that may have been previously released. The system now does not restrict this and if you are a label wishing to re-use an old ISRC code from a previous release, you are able to do so.

Track Length Is Automatic!
Every time you select a wav file to correspond with a track you are working on, the track length is now automatically added in for you! No longer do you need to enter this information manually saving every client a lot of time!

Adding Artists In “Create A Release”, “Edit Release / Tracks”
Every client can now add artists in the “Create A Release”, “Edit Release”, and the “Edit Tracks” sections. This is a huge added bonus as clients previously had to leave the section they were in, and enter the “Artists” section to add a Primary Artist, Featuring, and/or Remixer Artist. Now, you can do it all in one screen saving you time and hassle!

** TuneCore and CD Baby both have release fees and TuneCore charges a fee PER YEAR for hosting and maintaining your material. Under our Option 4 service, you pay a sign up fee of $200, a one time fee to deliver content and NO YEARLY fees or additional fees + you get your music on Beatport.com if it is Electronic Dance Music and if approved by Beatport.com (We are the only distributor providing 100% of royalties to labels and artists off Beatport.com. Under, Option 4, you keep all royalties made after Beatport’s percentage).

iTunes content is now available across Latin America! We are very excited about this as we believe Latin America is one of the greatest markets for independent music (in particular, to our Dance Music partners).
